Portfolio Strategy:

Fisher Investments’ portfolio strategy seeks to maximize the probability of achieving a client's stated goals and objectives. Each client portfolio is managed in accordance with the specific long-term goals communicated by the client as well as Fisher Investments’ market forecast. Every quarter, Fisher Investments releases a Stock Market Outlook — a forecast of the general direction of the market which is derived from detailed research and analysis of various market drivers including economic, political, and sentiment drivers. The firm’s portfolio strategy changes depending on market conditions and each decision in client portfolios is made after careful consideration of various research and data points.

Portfolio Allocation:

Fisher Investments research shows 70% of long term portfolio returns are attributable to portfolio asset allocation (i.e. the mix of stocks, bonds and cash at any given time). Fisher Investments believes the next 20% of a portfolio's relative performance is determined by the sub-asset allocation decision i.e. the sector, country, size, and style composition of the portfolio. Fisher Investments believes only 10% of long-term portfolio returns are attributable to individual security selection. Despite the small impact, Fisher Investments’ internal Research department has dedicated research analysts who study each stock owned in the portfolio, along with other research analysts who are responsible for global capital markets research and sector/country-specific research. Supported by the Research staff, the Investment Policy Committee makes the higher level portfolio decisions and determines the market forecast in any given year.
